| Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date model. This watch combines the features that draw collectors and enthusiasts to the designs of the late 50’s and early 60’s. Please note the slender alpha shaped hands that rotate about the dial and the corresponding arrowhead hour markers. The solid stainless steel Oyster case features a flat-machined steel bezel with bar markers at the appropriate hour markers, these flat steel bezels have been referred to as the “life preserver” models. The matte black dial was just professionally restored and the watch has been completely serviced by my Rolex trained watchmaker and the 26 jewel Rolex automatic perpetual caliber 1560 movement keeps great time. The case carries the reference 1501 confirming that the bezel is correct for this model. The caseback inner stamping shows a production date of the first quarter of 1963 while the serial number is in the 859,xxx range. The watch is supplied on a black leather strap however a brown model can be substituted or a genuine Rolex Oyster bracelet can be supplied for an additional cost. The watch measures 34.5 mm wide by 41 mm long. |
